On the Road Again--Georgia and North Carolina

We left Tampa a little over two weeks ago and after a leisurely trip through Georgia and several days of a bluegrass music festival in Cherokee, North Carolina, we have come to rest at beautiful Lake Junaluska. We plan to be here for about 9 days.  Developed by Methodists in 1937, this little lake is the center of a thriving community that seems focused on health of body, mind and soul; but the religious influence is low key.  From the swans that cruise the lake to the paved path around it to the many recreational opportunities (kayaking, tennis, pickleball and lots of walking), it seems a lovely place to live. We have good friends who just moved here from California. Tonight there is a mountain music and clogging event in nearby Waynesville, tomorrow a farmers market, Sunday we plan to go for a hike in Great Smokey Mountains National Park.

Our campsite in northern Georgia. We saw fireflies!
